Default Questions...

Hey guys,

I'm still pretty new to the game and have a few questions. It's becoming pretty apparent that I shouldn't have made a Necro/Elementalist. Coming from Lineage2, I'm a bit of a dmg monger. First question: can I change what my second class is without rerolling? Second Question: if I can't change what I've done with my character, what should be the best build for this combo?

Thanks for the help

1. Yes, you can change it, depending on which campaign your character is in. Usually, you can change it as soon as you hit lv. 20 in most cases.

2. Necromancers have enough Blood Magic/Curses skills at that low of a level to survive. Just use Blood Magic, some Curses, and Glyph of Lesser Energy and you'll be fine. Good Necromancers don't use a secondary profession anyways...

Welcome to GW!

Damage Mongers should be E/x

1) Yes, you can change your 2ndary - depending on what campaign you are in.
a) Prophecies - Ascend, defeat the Dragon's Lair Quest and then talk to Vanyi and go back to the Crystal Desert and complete the quests for each profession you are not (Warrior, Monk, Mesmer, and Ranger)
b) Factions - Complete the City Mission - Nahpui Quarter and you'll endup at Senji's Corner. There is a secondary Profession changer there, and for 500 gp each time, you can change your 2ndary profession (Warrior, Monk, Mesmer, Ranger, Assassin, and Ritualist)
c) Night Fall - Complete the Hunted Quest (I think) or whatever its called and free Koss. Then go south West exit (I think) of Sanctuary and there is a profession changer there (I haven't played in NF much).

2) Pure Necro, but use a glyph of lesser energy for additional e-management. You can experiment if you'd like (spinal shivers + ice spear, Earthquake + Feted Ground, Enfeebling Blood + Stoning, etc.)

Have fun with your N/E.

Good luck and have fun!

Awesome. Thanks for the help.

I'll probably end up focusing on Earth magic.... and then change down the road.

As damage monger you will love minion mastering as necromancer, SS necromancer can also produce lots of nice number

SS, in context of necro builds, is a 'Spiteful Spirit' necromancer.

[skill]Spiteful Spirit[/skill]

It revolves around the use of the elite hex, Spiteful Spirit, to lay waste to closely-packed groups of enemies. Often used in conjuction with Arcane Echo, to be able to spread the love around some more. [skill]Arcane Echo[/skill]

Combined with other Curses debuffs and damaging spells, SS necros can make for powerful damage and support characters.

Here's the wiki vetted PvE build - it's workable enough: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:N/Me_SS_Nuker

SS = Spiteful Spirit (e)

A SS necro is a curse heavy necromancer that does small AoE spells that cause nice damage.

Desecrate Enchantment
Defile Enchantment
Spiteful Spirit (e)
Parasitic Bond (Cover hex)
Reckless Haste
Price Of Failure
Util
Rez

Some people like Arcane Echo, but I think its too costly.

So, can I still get Factions and Prophecy skills in nightfall? or no? A lot of the builds that I see have skills from lots of different episodes...

(man, I am FULL of n00b questions)....

There are two ways of finding things out:

1) Find every skill and experiement until you die (you, not your character)
2) asking others on their opinions and why they like the skills and why the others just don't work with some other skills.

There is nothing wrong with asking questions, so don't sweat it.

Each campaign has their own set of skills. There are other skills called "core" skills, which appear in each campaign.

Example of "Core" skills are Blood Is Power (e), Tainted Flesh (e), Vampiric Gaze, Parasitic Bond, Well Of Blood.

Example of "Prophecy" only skills are Aura Of The Lich (e), Well Of Power (e), Vampiric Touch, Spiteful Spirit (e), Verata's Sacrifice.

Example of "Faction" only skills are Animate Flesh Golem (e), Vampiric Spirit (e), Vampiric Bite, Animate Vampiric Horror, Oppressive Gaze.

Example of "Night Fall" only skills are Ravenous Gaze (e), Signet Of Lost Souls, Animate Shambling Horror, Blood Of The Aggressor.

Each campaign has their own skills, so you need that campaign in order to use those skills in PvE.

Apparently there are some people who were tricked into using their signet of capture for no reason. Apparently, I heard (I'm not sure if it has been fixed or not), but some monsters use Prophecy skills only spells (like Meteor Shower). Someone caped it, but doesn't have Prophecies. So it was a non-usable skill on his skill bar.

Hope this helps.

Your character can travel on the three continents, if you own the three campaigns. If you only own nightfall, you cannot capture a skill that is prophecies only, as SS is.
